Everything below is computed by a deterministic engine from your own transactions. Every finding shows exactly why it was raised, and you can confirm, dismiss or correct any of them.

The route
Link an account through Plaid (read-only) or upload a statement you exported yourself. Either way, you choose what LowScout sees.
Files are malware-checked before anything reads them. Every source is analyzed by the same exact arithmetic — the same data always produces the same result.

The guarantee
Optional AI summaries only ever see derived facts our deterministic engine already computed. Before anything reaches you, every figure in the AI's response is checked against your exact numbers. If even one can't be verified, the response is blocked and replaced with the plain, verified facts.
That rule is enforced by code and covered by an adversarial test suite — it is not a marketing sentence.

Alerts when something changes — a new recurring charge, a price rise, a duplicate, a charge that stopped, a renewal coming up — computed from your own data, per account.
A monthly bearing — improving, steady, or drifting — computed from your own verified numbers, with the one highest-impact move to make next. Shown only once there is enough history to support it.
A monthly report of what actually changed in your recurring spend — sent only when new data has really been analyzed.
Verified savings: when a charge you ended stops appearing in later data, LowScout proves it — a ledger of real money back, never estimates.
Trust
You're trusting us with financial information. That deserves specifics, not badges — here is exactly how LowScout behaves.
Uploaded files live in private storage, reachable only through short-lived links tied to your account. Sensitive values never appear in our logs.
If you connect an account, you sign in at your bank through Plaid; LowScout never receives or stores your bank username or password, never sees full account numbers or balances, and can never move money. If you upload instead, a file is the entire data relationship.
Every dollar figure is calculated from your own transactions with exact math. Nothing is projected, rounded up for drama, or invented.
AI summaries are optional and off by default. Every financial figure shown in AI responses is verified against LowScout's deterministic analysis. If a figure cannot be verified, it is not shown. Your data is never used to train AI models.
Connecting an account, AI summaries and cancellation tracking each ask for their own permission — nothing is bundled, and withdrawing consent takes effect immediately.
Delete uploaded files or disconnect an account whenever you want. Dismissed charges stay dismissed, and your corrections always outrank our automation.

Straight answers
No. You choose: connect a bank or card account through Plaid (read-only transaction access — you sign in at your bank, and LowScout never receives your credentials), or export a statement (PDF or CSV) and upload it. Both feed the same analysis; neither is required over the other.
No — and we won’t pretend otherwise. LowScout guides you: reviewed step-by-step instructions, direct cancellation links where we’ve verified them, and ready-to-send scripts. You perform the cancellation yourself, and LowScout confirms it only when your later data shows the charge actually stopped.
Every total and every finding links back to the transactions that produced it — you can check our math against your own statement or account activity, line by line.
Only derived facts our engine already computed (merchant names, amounts, billing cadence) — never your uploaded documents, raw statement text or account details, and only if you explicitly turn AI summaries on.
No. No envelopes, no category guilt, no spreadsheets. LowScout does one job with receipts: find what quietly recurs, show exactly what it costs, and help you decide what stays.
